The Music Café was founded by two old friends and their wives who had a desire to make a difference. Randy Anderson, who lives in Damascus and has always been passionate about specialty coffee, had a dream of opening his own coffee shop for the last 10 plus years. When his friend, Kurt Esche, approached him in the spring of 2005 with the same desire, the two agreed that this would be the start of something big! Both were involved with music for many years, and wanted to incorporate music into the business ... Thus, The Music Cafe, Inc. was born! | |

The Legend of the Dancing Goats
Coffee was first discovered in what is now called Ethiopia. According to legend, the area's remote highlands were home to a goat herder named Kaldi. One day he noticed his goats dancing and prancing after eating a strange red berry. Not to be left out of the fun, Kaldi ate the berry and soon he was dancing with his goats.
